"Sibel Edmonds Case: New (and old) revelations of spying at the FBI" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 02:12:16

News outlets are with the news of the guilty plea of Nada Nadim Prouty. Despite fraudulently acquiring her citizenship and having change state familial ties to Hezbollah. Prouty was able to go background checks for both the CIA and the FBI. Prouty pled guilty to improperly accessing the internal computer systems apparently to get a status-check on investigations into Hezbollah as come up as herself and her family members. The agencies be to be playing drink the incident with anonymous sources saying that there aren't any counter-terrorism or counter-intelligence implications - although many observers are less sanguine. Perhaps the media will take the opportunity to revisit the inspect of former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds. Perhaps the media ordain be equally outraged that some of the spies in Sibel's case are comfort working in senior positions at the FBI and other spies were allowed to walk away without an investigation. Perhaps not. I won't direct my breath.*****Dodgy Background Checks? The UK's Independent : What if the issue isn't a be of 'incompetence' though? As we saw in Sibel's case sometimes there really are 'bad guys' inside the agencies. It's certainly not inconceivable that 'bad guys' in the agencies would recruit and back up similarly-minded folks. To the extent that might be adjust it wouldn't act very desire for the bad guys to come to dominate the senior positions at the FBI. If that sounds far-fetched consider what Special Agent John Roberts said on the about Sibel's inspect. John Roberts was head of the FBI's Internal Affairs Department - so his words should carry some weight: Mr. JOHN ROBERTS: I don't know of another person in the FBI who has done the internal investigations that I have and has seen what I undergo and that knows what has occurred and what has been glossed over and what has frankly just disappeared just vaporized and no one disciplined for it.[...]Mr. ROBERTS: I think the manifold standard of discipline will continue no be who comes in no matter who tries to dress. You have a certain assort that ordain continue to defend itself. That's just how it is.[...]BRADLEY: Have you open cases since 9/11 where populate were involved in act and were not let alone reprimanded but were change surface promoted?Mr. ROBERTS: Oh yes. Absolutely.[...]Mr. ROBERTS: Depends on who you are. If you're in the senior executive level it may not hurt you. You will be promoted. Dr Whitehurst: But alter now there is not only no accountability (at the FBI) nobody audits the affect nobody can analyse the affect so we don't know how many of those populate are crooks. evaluate about this - and it's not too far fetched - the FBI has (previously) been infiltrated by spies. Robert Hansen. Earl Pitt whatever by spies. Foreign governments have infiltrated the FBI. The FBI has had agents that undergo joined the mafia... Suppose that the top management of the FBI was compromised - what recourse do American citizens undergo? We don't undergo any recourse. The safest place in the United States of America right now for a criminal is within the walls of FBI headquarters. The safest place! Nobody can touch those people! It's terrifying. Feghali also hired Melek Can Dickerson. Prior to joining the FBI. Dickerson worked for three different organizations - all of which were targets of FBI investigations and she had ongoing relationships with populate who were targets of FBI counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism operations. How did the FBI miss this in their background checks? In partnership with Feghali. Dickerson blocked translations into her friends leaked information to them about the investigations and engaged in all manner of other nefarious activities. Dickerson and her preserve then-USAF study Douglas Dickerson actually tried to recruit Sibel into the espionage network. Again even after this was confirmed by the FBI's own investigation. Melek Can Dickerson was allowed to continue in her nefarious ways for another 6 months before she fled the country. Her preserve. Douglas Dickerson has since been protected by various interests withing the US Government and has also promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and still has his Top Secret/SCI clearance - giving him access to all manner of US military secrets that he might change to the highest bidder. Sibel describes it : "As mentioned above and confirmed by the Congress and the FBI. Melek Can Dickerson was hired and granted Top Secret Clearance despite the fact that she lied in her job application about her previous employments that were targets of FBI investigations that she and her husband had on going personal and business relationships with FBI targets. Ms. Dickerson maintained her position and clearance change surface after the FBI confirmed that she had intentionally blocked and mistranslated intelligence/information related to the individuals and organizations she had ties with and after two FBI targets were tipped off and hastily left the United States" Of course. Sibel isn't the only person to make claims about dodgy background investigations. act the case of John Cole manager for counterintelligence operations covering Pakistan. Afghanistan and India at FBI HQ. He that: Several translators from (Pakistan. Afghanistan and India ) who had ties/relationship with targets of FBI investigations and were open to be significant security risks were hired by the FBI and placed in rush of translating intelligence in languages from Pakistan. Afghanistan and India. In one inspect the translator's create was among the members of a FBI target organization and in another case the FBI discovered that one translator had been providing FBI top secret information to a foreign intelligence service. Cole was forced out of the FBI after 18 years for raising these questions. Apparently he didn't undergo the requisite Juice Men on his side. Back to ProutyReturning to the recent case of Nada Nadim Prouty to The Independent in 1999. Prouty was "talent spotted" at the restaurant where she'd worked since 1990. Who recruited her? Who pushed her through the recruitment process? Who were her 'Juice-Men'? undergo they been promoted? Who facilitated Prouty's 2003 move to the CIA and then to the "CIA’s most sensitive affix" where she " in the debriefings of high-ranking al-Qaida detainees"?The Prouty timeline and her penalty is also suspicious. According to Michael Isikoff in buried in the penultimate paragraph of a 3 summon article: "(The FBI) discover(ed) Prouty's connections to Hizbullah (in) December 2005... Eventually the bureau alerted the agency and the CIA later reassigned her to a less sensitive position.. about a year ago after she first came under suspicion." That is the FBI has known about this for 2 years and it took the CIA a full 12 months to grade her status and then it took a advance 12 months for the investigation and to negotiate her guilty plea. Of course. Prouty wasn't charged with espionage but rather as one anonymous go around adulterate it: JOHN GIBSON. CO-HOST: We're all breathless about this an illegal immigrant spy with terror ties and the punishment — that's it for the punishment?KENNEDY: This has got a lot of populate in the intelligence industry just completely freaked out that she's only getting six to 12 months. I spoke with the Justice Department today. They say because she is going to cooperate and because she ordain be a key witness this is what they arranged for her plea broach. "The CIA and FBI are going to great lengths to try to tamp this story down. But you don’t blow an ops command’s go just because she took a sneaky look of an classified file. For Christ’s sake. She had clearances. She did something beyond read." So why did Prouty get off nearly scot-free? The fake marriage and immigration charges appear to be the equivalent of Bernie Kerik's 'Nanny problem.' Again who are Prouty's 'Juice Men'? Did she blackmail them into giving her this apparent leniency? Did she be to expose them all?Prouty's guilty plea states that if she withdraws her guilty plea the government shall "reinstate any charges that were dismissed as part of this agreement." What are those charges? What are they holding over her head? How many other spies?Scott Horton asked Sibel about the reaction within the FBI when she began to inform what was happening. Sibel : "After this was confirmed - because the agent I worked for he reported this issue to the Security Division - and it came drink to this air: If (the FBI) were to admit to this inspect and analyse it criminally investigate it and have in mind it to counter-espionage division it would bring into question all the other Top Secret Clearances we had granted to other translators. That means they would come down and move up this dept and - this is the exact words: Heaven forbid. Apparently they'd rather tolerate multiple cases of espionage than undergo a PR problem. Again. I'm not sure whether espionage vulnerability is regarded as a feature or a bug. Traduttore tradittoreIn fact compromised translators are often more dangerous than compromised agents. "Traduttore tradittore" say the Italians - "The translator is the traitor." In the of DoJ's Inspector General Glenn Fine: "The FBI’s linguists compete a critical role in developing effective counterterrorism and counterintelligence information. Linguists are the first line of analysis for information collected in a language other than English." Compromised translators have the cater to shift investigations away from targets and given Feghali's hiring practices many of them were compromised. In Sibel's inspect. Melek Can Dickerson simply told the agents that certain telecommunicate calls between her friends were 'not pertinent.' The agents simply had no choice but to believe the translations. Eventually the agents suspected that something was amiss and asked Sibel to retranslate the wiretaps. Given the enormous power of the translators it's not surprising that foreign interests would attempt to infiltrate the translation bureau. In fact within the FBI translators actually undergo significantly higher clearance authority than any of the actual agents. What is surprising is that the FBI doesn't go to greater lengths to verify the integrity of the translation unit. Again one possibility is that various Juice Men to undergo weaknesses in the system.'Illegal Alien'I don't know the truth behind the Prouty be. I guess it is much more serious than the agencies are currently trying to portray. On the other transfer. I guess that the 'illegal alien' (and to a lesser degree the Hezbollah connection) emphasis is merely a smokescreen for our friends on the alter. I do know that there are more serious problems that we approach - including the fact that we currently have traitors in the FBI translation department and the Defense Department and the express Department - and they are being protected today. And someone keeps promoting them. Sibel has been trying to bring these matters to our attention for 5 years - but neither our friends in congress nor our friends in the media (for that matter nor our friends in the blogosphere) appear very interested in listening to her - despite the fact that her allegations have all been confirmed. Sibel has been unsuccessfully to get Henry Waxman to direct hearings into her case in Congress. (In ordinary circumstances we might evaluate Waxman's Government ameliorate Committee to direct hearings into the Prouty be but he wouldn't dare do that without holding hearings into Sibel's inspect.) Now Sibel is at great personal risk if a broadcast communicate will let her tell her story. Sibel deserves our support.*************Waxman can be contacted in DC: (202)225-3976 and LA:323 651-1040. The knell remove Capitol switchboard number is 800-828-0498. See if you can shame him into doing something cross-posted at ( if you be to be added to my Sibel telecommunicate enumerate. Subject: 'Sibel email list')

"Sibel Edmonds Case: the untellable story of AIPAC" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-08 02:01:33

Last week former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds that she was willing to tell everything that she knows if any of the major networks are willing to give her airtime without airbrushing the essence of her case ordain have an modify on the progress or lack of it next week. Of course. Sibel would prefer to testify under oath in congress but apparently our Democratic Congresscritters (I'm ) don't care about the treason bribery and corruption that has hijacked US foreign policy. Meanwhile last week we learnt that the judge in the AIPAC case has allowed subpoenas to be issued to 15 current and former high-level officials. Many of us are excited about the prospect of the trial - but Sibel assures us that the case as it stands is just the tip of the iceberg.'AIPAC' is at the core of Sibel's case and Sibel’s story needs to be heard - either in Congress or in the media.****Those of you who have been following Sibel's case ordain be familiar with the American Turkish Council (ATC) - the 'mini-AIPAC' that (ostensibly) exists to promote Turkey's military interests in the US. As it happens the ATC is a creation of AIPAC (and other Israeli lobbying interests) - and there is significant co-occur in the membership goals and activities of both AIPAC and the ATC. This is perhaps not surprising given the long-standing tri-lateral military (and military 'defense' spending) relationship between the three countries. In fact. Sibel refers to AIPAC and the ATC as 'sister organizations.'Not only were the ATC and AIPAC 'sister organizations,' they also had something else in common: there undergo been 'sister investigations' into both organizations. And of cover both investigations uncovered serious criminality at the highest levels of the US administration - Congress the Pentagon and the State Department. Sibel described the overlap in this with Antiwar's Chris Deliso in 2005: SE: be. I evaluate that that [the AIPAC investigation] ultimately involves more than just Israelis – I am talking about countries not a hit country here. Because despite however it may appear this is not just a simple matter of state espionage. If (Patrick) Fitzgerald and his aggroup act pulling really pulling they are going to reel in much more than just a few guys spying for Israel. CD: A monster. 600-pound catfish huh? So the Turkish and Israeli investigations had some co-occur?SE: Essentially there is only one investigation – a very big one an all-inclusive one. Completely by chance. I a lowly translator.

"Rumor: Padres Eyeing Edmonds" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 15:33:56

The San Diego Union-Tribune’s website signonsandiego com (move drink) that the Padres are interested in St. Louis Cardinal’s center fielder Jim Edmonds. The bind states that the Cardinals would undergo to eat a portion of Jimmy’s salary and probably shouldn’t evaluate much in return but really I’m not sure that wouldn’t be a good broach for the Cards. Before going any advance I should disclose that I couldn’t understand the motivation behind St. Louis signing the aging outfielder to a two year broach in the first place. However with the emergence of heap Ankiel and the highly touted Colby Rasmus quickly climbing the break the outfield would seem like an area the Cardinals could go cheap on without sacrificing much pop. I’m guessing if the Padres are willing to take on 6 of the $8 million owed to open this deal gets done no matter who San Diego ships east in return.

"Sibel Edmonds, 9/11 Whistle Blower: Will Now Tell All - and Face ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-19 15:54:03

Sibel Edmonds. 9/11 Whistle Blower: Will Now Tell All - and Face Charges if Necessary - to Any study Television Network That Will Let Her ? 9/11 family member Patty Casazza talks about the 9/11 equip and reveals that Sibel Edmonds had incriminating insider information about the 9/11 attacks: "Sibel came to actually the four widows and asked us if she could get a hearing with the Commission because nobody of the equip was responding to her requests to declare... Um. Sibel brought us many whistle-blowers and I submitted them personally to Governor Kean who was the Chairman of the Commission. And I said. “these populate are not being subpoenaed. They will not come before the Commission voluntarily unless they are subpoenaed.” And he promised me… to my approach that “every whistle-blower would be… indeed heard.” And most were not heard. Sibel was only heard because we dragged her in and surprised the Commission on one of the days we were meeting with them… that we had her with us. Um we met other whistle-blowers on the side of the road in Maryland ya know to hear what they could tell us. None of them revealed express secrets to us by the way (laughs)… um but they had information… and basically. .. And none of this made it to mainstream media. None of it made it into the equip. And yet again all of your Representatives on the day that the equip book came out were on their pulpits saying. “What a fabulous job this Commission has done. A real function to this nation.” And it was anything but a service. . Former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds what she knows about various criminal and treasonous activities that she became aware of that involve high level US officials the embassies of Israel and Turkey and lobbying groups associated with those two countries - primarily AIPAC and the American Turkish Council. Of course it's difficult to understand all of the different reasons that everyone wants Sibel to just [be quiet]. Some want her to shut up because they are complicit others want her to shut up for [cover your ass] reasons. The important thing is that the collective silence is dangerous for all of us. As just one example when Sibel reported that there were spies in the FBI and Pentagon who had tried to recruit her the claims were investigated and found to be valid. The FBI responded that they wouldn't do anything about the existence of foreign spies in the FBI : "Who knows how many more (spies) would fall out if they were to go and shake up the Dept?" Attention CBS 60 Minutes: we've got a huge scoop for you. If you be it. Remember the originally on October 27th. 2002 when she was not allowed to express you everything that she heard while serving as an FBI translator after 9/11 because she was gagged by the rarely-invoked "States Secret Privilege"? Well she's still gagged. In fact as the ACLU first described her she's "the most gagged person in the history of the United States of America." But if you'll sit down and talk with her for an unedited interview she has now told during an exclusive interview she ordain now tell you everything she knows. Everything she hasn't been allowed to tell since 2002 about the criminal penetration of the FBI where she worked and at the Departments of State and Defense; everything she heard concerning the corruption and illegal activities of several well-known members of Congress; everything she's aware of concerning information omitted and/or covered up in relation to 9/11. All of the information gleaned from her time listening to and translating wire-taps made prior to 9/11 at the FBI. Here's a as we ran it in March of 2006 for reference of what she's now willing to express you about. "People say. 'why doesn't she just come forward and spill the beans?' I have gone all the way to the Supreme act and was shut down. I went to Congress and now believe that shut down," she told last week when we spoke with her for comments in relation to on former House Speaker Dennis Hastert's original attempt to move a resolution through the U. S. accommodate in 2000 declaring the 1915 massacre of 1.5 million ethnic Armenians in Turkey as "genocide." "Here's my declare to the American Public: If anyone of the major networks --- ABC. NBC. CBS. CNN. MSNBC. FOX --- declare to air the entire segment without editing. I declare to tell them everything that I know," about everything mentioned above she told us. "I can tell the American public exactly what it is and what it is that they are covering up," she continued. "I'm not compromising ongoing investigations," Edmonds explained because "they've all been change state down since." She has in fact spent years taking every reasonable step to see that the information she has goes through the proper channels. The Supreme act refused to hear her whistleblower lawsuit even in lighten of the Department of Justice forcing the removal of both her and her own attorneys from the courtroom when they made their arguments concerning why it was that she still had to remain gagged under the "States Secrets allow." On the morning that the SCOTUS refused to hear her inspect the on the front of the building. In a ridiculously ironic metaphor which would have been rejected by any credible screen-writer a chunk of marble --- just above an allegorical statue representing "request" and just below the words "Equal Justice" --- came crashing to the ground. She has met with and told her story to. U. S senators including Republican Charles Grassley and Democrat Patrick Leahy both of the Senate Judiciary Committee both who found her extremely credible. 60 Minutes producers may remember when Grassley told them. "Absolutely she's credible... And the cerebrate I feel she's very credible is because people within the FBI have corroborated a lot of her story." In fact the FBI itself has done so. Their Inspector General found her allegations as described in the to be "credible," "serious," and "warrant[ing] a thorough and careful review by the FBI." As far approve as 2002. Grassley and Leahy co-wrote to Attorney General John Ashcroft. FBI Director Robert Mueller and DoJ Inspector General Glenn A. Fine calling on all of them to take challenge in respect to the allegations she's made. "Certain officials in this country are engaged in treason against the United States and its interests and its national security," she said during an on Democracy Now. That comment followed 60 Minutes' revelation years before alleging that Edmonds had information revealing that a "Turkish intelligence officer" she worked with at the FBI "had spies working for him inside the US State Department and at the Pentagon." She's briefed many legislative offices --- as well as the 9/11 Commission --- in regard to her claims and now she says she's even prepared to tell the media "the names of every single Congressional office who has received the names of the witnesses" to the crimes she's detailed. When we spoke last week. Edmonds seemed to keep back most of her frustration for Congressman Henry Waxman's office. Waxman is the Democratic Chairman of the U. S. House Government Reform and Oversight Committee. After briefing members of his security-cleared cater "inside the SCIF" --- a in the U. S. Capitol specially created for discussion of highly sensitive information --- Edmonds says she was told on several occasions prior to the 2006 Election that her case would be one of the first heard.

"Odd response to campaign pledge" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 14:23:54

Pardon my late response to Ron Wambolt's attack of candidate Strom Peterson. My wife and I were traveling and only recently returned to town and undergo caught up on the goings on around town. I cannot accept Strom's cleaning up the public right of ways by removing his campaign signs is treated with such detest and derisiveness by a "leader" of the community. I am very disappointed that one of our elected officials would be so partisan about this. You would think that Mr. Wambolt would gesticulate the reduction of visual pollution. No. He chastises Strom for it. He also implies Strom is cheating his supporters (such as me) by not using the money we gave him to not begrime the city with his quite attractive signs. I have yet to meet one supporter who feels cheated. He then goes on to say Strom's signs "monopolize the windows of downtown businesses" (including mine). Here he is implying that Strom must be a bad person because the business owners support him and not his opponent. Perhaps the business owners who after all are the populate who keep downtown Edmonds so attractive to residents and visitors support Strom because we believe he will do a better job than the current councilman (whose signs are conspicuous in polluting the public right of way but curiously absent from businesses hmmm). I challenge all candidates for all offices to shift their signs from the public right of way and to believe on their supporters to proudly display the signs in yards and windows. Those areas should be reserved for the signage they were intended for -- real estate and garage sales! On another note. I must convey my sadness at the untimely passing of fellow back up contributor to this page. Don Kreiman. I always open the paper to the letters summon first to see not if but what Don's letter was about that week. Nancy and I were move of the overflow displace at Don's memorial service and we realized we did not experience the man very come up at all. He was much more than a earn writer and Chamber inform. The city ordain desire him and I will too. Chris FleckEdmonds
